Weekend Wrap-Up

So this weekend was a good one, a lot of work and play. Friday night was The Zuton's show and it was outstanding! For a free show, they played quite a long set, really worked the crowd well, kept good pace and their music is upbeat and lots of fun. We met the band after the show, bought the CD and got it autographed. They had no problem talking with us for a while and making my way through their thick Liverpool accents was fun. The venue is great and the sound quality was really nice. My ears were ringing for two days after though...ouch The opening band, Margot and the Nuclear So So's, was good too. They have no website unfortunately, but I'll keep an eye out for them on the web.

Dodge's mom and pop came up this weekend from Dodge's hometown, Louisville, and helped him put in a new floor in one of the upstairs bedrooms. So there were some good meals mixed in with the hard work and great conversation. Actually with 4 people working on it, it was as much work as I thought it would be. Dodge's buddy Jack Straw even came over and helped for a while...thanks bud.

Here's some good stuff that's out there right now:

The Fiery Furnaces: "Single Again"
Airborn Audio: "Bright Lights"
Lou Barlow: "Home"
Robbers on High Street: "Spanish Teeth"

Don't ever think too much...
