tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10014226.post-46255702584442962202008-12-29T01:30:00.000-05:002008-12-29T01:32:42.729-05:00Under The Radar : Artists & Albums To Look Forward To In 2009 : Alela Diane : To Be Still<center><img src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y150/Saltlick/SXSW%202007/2008/alelaDiane.jpg" alt="Alela Diane" width="438"></center> As <a href="http://myoldkyhome.blogspot.com/2008/12/under-radar-artists-albums-to-look.html" target="blank">we said previously</a>, sure, there are <A href="http://stereogum.com/archives/video/20-albums-in-2009_042381.html" target="blank">a lot of obvious records</a> and and artists to look forward to in 2009, but who are the ones that are going to come out of nowhere and knock your socks off? <a href="http://www.aleladiane.com/" target="blank">Alela Diane</a> still remains firmly under the radar outside of the blogosphere, but she is quietly putting out some of the most incredible, and somewhat simple, music around. Possibly overshadowed by her more known Nevada City native-counterpart, Joanna Newsom, and maybe completely happy to be so (AD now resides in Portland, OR however). This year, however, she signed to Rough Trade records and will release To Be Still in February of 2009. We had the pleasure of hosting her for an MOKB/SIRIUS XM session <a href="http://myoldkyhome.blogspot.com/2007/11/alela-diane-live-on-mokb-sirius-blog.html" target="blank">late last year</A> and she graced our ears with sheer beauty.
