15 Talk back to yo' mama!:
The wrong choice has definitely been made. Left Of Center is HORRIBLE compared to the music mix of XMU. My subscription is cancelled.
Day one...way to give it a chance...Enjoy terrestrial radio!
i'm glad to be able to hear MOKB on Sirius, but I'm pretty bummed that Billy Zero and Tobi were let go. Their set lists went way deep.
Boombox has been ditched? I figure it would as it was niche, but isn't that the point of Satellite radio? But then, on the upside, I've never subscribed to satellite radio and without Boombox or some equivalent breakbeat/electro-rock station, it ain't gonna happen.
Boombox is still around...it is just called Pop 2K now...Channel 39
New SIRIUS Channel Lineup
Have to say (am I in the minority?) that as an XM customer, I was hoping for Left of Center. Maybe they should have left XMU and added LoC, since the new Sirius XMU sounds nothing like the old XMU.
I am pretty bummed about Toby and Billy Zero, as well. I always enjoyed their playlists.
I was shocked to not hear Billy Zero on my way to work this morning, and was hoping I'd hear Tobi on the way home, which would make me feel a little better. Very sad to hear that's not going to be the case. As an XM subscriber for 7 years and devoted XMU listener, this is a tough transition. Thank god we have the Escape to Margaritaville channel to console us. WTF? Looking forward to being able to listen to Dodge do his thang though.
It's all gonna be ok...I obvs have sirius, but I listen to xm often as well...so, no knock on them...it will all work out in the end. patience...it's day one.
I loved LOC. The DJs were great and Left of Sessions was excellent. I enjoyed the way they'd tell you about the new bands, too. XMU does not give you any info, which sucks. There are some points to be made here, though. Sirius/XM has three classic rock channels and two christian rock channels. WTF? This was a money-saving move, plain and simple. Bummer. Total bummer.
they will keep doing Left Of Sessions I'm sure, probably under a new name. All the DJs, except Christopher The Minister, are still there. Blog Radio is still there, minus PSNYC. SIRIUS XMU will basically be LOC in time is my guess
Boombox is NOT still around. They canned it. That pop crap they have on 39 doesn't resemble Boombox at all. That was my favorite station. ARRRRGH.
yeah...you're right. sorry about that...didn't realize they changed format.

I'm disappointed with the changes to the stations. Toby and Billy Zero were the best DJs and their set lists always introduced something new to me. The new DJs are not really cutting it for me. Too much banter that doesn't include information I would like to hear, and the set lists have too much repetition and not enough new stuff.
I also am disappointed that we have lost the Verge too... no more new and unsigned artists I guess. Looks like 2009 will be a real change, no more satellite radio for me and a great new president. At least I have one thing to look forward to.
