4 Talk back to yo' mama!:
Give it a few more weeks, and we'll have a whole covers album! (Which would make Witmer only one of a very small handful of artists to have done two entire covers albums...if you can name another artist who has done the same, I'll give you a cookie)
Cat Power?
Mark Kozalek (sp)?
Dodge gets a cookie -- Cat Power released covers albums in 2000 and 2008. I'll give a reluctant cookie for Mark Kozelek, as his solo work includes covers album(s) of Christmas songs and his work with/as Sun Kil Moon includes that disk of Modest Mouse covers.
IF we ignore Christmas song albums, the list is much smaller...but there's still others. Plenty from the folkworld here, by the way; Joan Baez and Richie Havens and Nanci Griffith come to mind off the top of my head. Anyone else?
