Two Exclusive Streams : Margot & The Nuclear So & Sos : Brand New Key 7" & Poster Contest

Time for our weekly Margot & The Nuclear So & Sos post! I know, I know...not all of you love them like I do, but some of you do. So those that don't, just keep scrolling.

Margot is running a poster design contest. If you're interested, you should then design a tour poster for one of the upcoming shows inspired by the songs and submit it at this Margot Brand New Key page.

The winner of the contest will receive:

-4 tickets to a Margot show of his/her choice
-Your winning design featured here on MOKB
-2 Brand New Key vinyl singles
-50 high quality prints of their poster
-The winning artwork featured on Margot's MySpace, as their background, for a limited time.

Here are two exclusive streams from their 7" single available only at indie retail stores...like our friends at LUNA Music.

13 Talk back to yo' mama!:

Guess what? MARGOT FUCKING SUCKS!! Covering songs that already suck. There are better bands out there, and they are certainly bottom of the barrel. For Christ's sake...

At 4:20 PM, Anonymous Anonymous spat...

Hey Mr. Margot hater.
GO SUCK A COCK
margot is musical cocaine

At 12:45 PM, Anonymous Anonymous spat...

uh yeah Margot find your own sound and try playing a hometown show on your next tour, if there is one. i think the tightness of their hipster clothes is cutting off circulation to their drug soaked brains

At 6:28 PM, Anonymous Anonymous spat...

Love it. Another 15-year old girl whining. "MARGOT, WHY AREN'T YOU PLAYING MY CITY???!!". Try whining to their manager instead.

So much hate in here. Margot is an amazing band. If you don't like them you don't need to be in here telling them they suck. Stop trying to ruin their creativity, and let them choose what songs they want to cover. I'd rather listen to a band that does its own thing over a band that does what its fans want it to do any day.

At 2:26 AM, Anonymous Anonymous spat...

gosh
whoever you are that said margot should find their own sound, you are an idiot
have you even listened to their album
its called the dust of retreat
and the things you just listened to are just fun little side projects
so before you hate you should probably chek your sources
retard
Margot is awesome!
so go die in a hole

Seriously, what is all this hate based on? These two tracks? I love Margot and even I don't love these songs, but you can't base your opinion of a band on two tracks. Go listen to anything of their other stuff, forget about all this hipster backlash, and just enjoy their unique, thoughtful music.

i have loved margot for 3 years and will continue to do so. thank you for this post.

margot rocks my world.

who doesnt like margot,

Margot is beautiful. There is never a need for all of your hate. Please listen to THE DUST OF RETREAT before you judge Margot. I don't like these 2 cover songs, but they haven't changed my opinion of Margot. I happened upon a demo of "Ocean",which I hope will be on their new album, when I was moving from Nashville. I cried. I love Margot. If you don't, enjoy your own music.

it makes me sick that people judge a band by 2 songs. and what's even worse is that the first comment on this page is dissing them.

i saw them last night and i can't begin to explain how amazing it was.

I love you Margot. :)

margot is truly a great band, but these two songs aren't that good at all.

Margot is my favorite band. Richard Edwards puts his heart and soul into his lyrics, and this band is incredible. The dust of retreat is one of the most creative and most perfected albums I have ever heard. I've been listening to it for two years straight. I can leave it in my car cd player for months.
