Pop Dee-Lite : The Mood : Synaesthesia

Pop Dee-Lite has been on a bit of a hiatus as I left the friendly confines of the Twin Cities to visit the hot and smelly concrete jungle that is New York City in July. As a result, CDs have been piling up, rendering me helpless to listen to them all, especially with the likes of Coldplay, My Morning Jacket, Black Ghosts and Albert Hammond Jr. commanding my iPod - weeks after their releases in some cases.
Had I had time to do my homework before I left for NYC, I would have looked up The Mood while I was there. The bouncy pop act from the Big Apple released Synaesthesia on Outright Rock Records on July 1. Cousins Marco Argiro and Corinee Callen offer up bright vocal harmonies over thrashing drums and whirring guitars. Reminds me of another favorite of mine, Georgie James. There are only six songs on Synaesthesia, which barely clocks in at 20 minutes. It's just enough to put a little hop, skip and a jump in your step. You won't believe how quickly the songs breeze by with their effortless jangle, and it's hard to find a reason to skip any of the tracks on the CD. You can get it here. In the meantime, check out two of my favorite tracks from the album.
The Mood - Eskimo Scientist
The Mood - Masquerade
