Peace The Spork Out : George Carlin
As everyone has probably heard already, one of our lifetime's comedic titans, George Carlin, died yesterday afternoon. I grew up in a very Catholic family growing up and Mr. Carlin provided me with the balance that I needed in regards to religion, moral issues, and life in general.
I remember plopping down in front of the TV as a young kid watching him, Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor. Was I too young to watch these? Probably, but I like to think that Carlin's stand-up routines made me a more open-minded person when it came to such hot topics like homosexuality, religion, race and abortion. Topics I might not otherwise often be exposed to growing up in a small town. So George, I bid you adieu and want to say thank you for your insight and humor...you will be missed and not easily replaced. Sh*t, Piss, F*ck, C*nt, C*cksucker, Motherf*cker, Tits.
Below is George giving his thoughts on death...
Dodge's Thoughts On George Carlin's Death:
So my experiences with George Carlin are actually and often daily occurrences. My daughter is a big fan of Thomas And Friends...a children's show, about trains, that was often narrated by none other than George Carlin (1991-1997). Totally blew my mind first time I heard Carlin doing the voiceover for the various train adventures on PBS Sprout. I always thought it would have been great if Carlin broke out into some weird rant in the middle of one of the train mishaps, but unfortunately that will always just remain in my imagination. Alec Balwin and Ringo Star also moonlighted as a Thomas narrator from time to time.
Anyway, just one of those many other things Carlin did to make life better for all ages. Peace the spork out George.
