Matthew Loiacono : Kentucky

You might know Matthew Loiacono as the mandolinist/banjoist for the band Kamikaze Hearts. If not, he's the guy, in the band, who stands while they play apparently. Anyway, Loiacono has a new solo record, Kentucky, just released by Collar City Records. Based on the name alone, we had to check it out. The norm for something like this, some attachment to Kentucky, is a mediocre record and I'm left disappointed. Thankfully, not this time. Lots of winners on this album, and I'm really enjoying Infinitely Red.
So, what's better than a new, good record called Kentucky? A new, good, FREE record called Kentucky! Look at him...look at that face. He's not happy about it - he's downright pissed about the fact that he's gotta give it to you for free. You're not gonna buy it on name recognition alone!
OK, I'm making all that up...other than the fact that its free. I'm sure Matthew is a pretty great guy. I'm sure of it because he also wants to give a couple of you $50 just for listening to it and writing a short essay on why he titled the album Kentucky. Since you (and I) are all lazy bastards, your chances of winning are probably pretty good.
