IHeartComix Remixed

IHeartComix was giving away a pretty great, free, two-disc sampler at SXSW this year. Disc one, which we're featuring here, is called IHeartComix Remixed. Disc two is a mixtape from Frankie Chan.

I've told this story a couple times offline, but I'll share it again here. I love a lot of the IHeartComix roster, but I have little to no contact with them other than the weekly promo emails they send. Down at SXSW they threw a pretty huge parking garage/pool party one evening. The line was long and we never RSVP'd or anything, but we wanted to go, we had been drinking, and we didn't want to wait in line. We rolled up to the door, and looking back it was dick-move, but I went straight to the doorman and said, "Frankie said we should just go on up." Doorman: "Frankie? Frankie who?" Me: "Frankie Chan, he runs the label. This is his party." Doorman: "Huh? Who? Oh! Oh yeah, sure...here's the wristband, go on up."

I don't know Frankie Chan. I don't know if this hired doorman did either, but we came to the mutual agreement that we both did, and that he wanted me and my crew up in his party. Remember that next time IHeartComix is throwing a party. Frankie Chan wants you there.

OK, sorry, I don't know that. I probably just got banned. What I do know is that the Switchblade and Moving Forward remixes are two of my favorites and you should definitely check them out...

EDIT: Sorry, had to remove 4 of the songs, so hope you got them while they were up.

Protokoll - Moving Forward (Designer Drugs Remix)
The Toxic Avenger - Pokerface (Lies In Disguise Remix)
Heartsrevolution - C.Y.O.A. (Flosstradamus Remix)
Matt & Kim - It's A Fact (Printed Stained Mano Remix Ft. Hollywood Holt)

wow, anon, you are cool aren't you. His story was not meant to be pretentious. You need to get over yourself.

yeah, sorry that pissed you off...if anything I was saying that I wasn't cool enough for Frankie Chan to want me there, so I weaseled my way in. Hey, I thought it was funny, and you never know, it may help YOU in the future.

I have been anxiously awaiting this CD (especially the Switchblade remix), so thanks for posting :)

totally off subject from whatever conversation is going on but...I saved the i heart comix banner at SXSW while simian mobile disco was on stage. It was being trampled on, now it hangs on my wall. :) cheers.

Franki Chan IS a fucking wiener. He's to cool too talk to people that go to his parties because he's too busy hitting on the most underage chick in the place and crowd surfing for no fucking reason. It's okay though, more than enough people know he's a mix thief that gets too much cred. He and his marginally talented (excluding Matt and Kim & Toxic Avenger)hipster entourage can go fuck themselves.
Leave the post up, what's he gonna do? Write a blog crying about it?

is there any chance of uploading the whole album somewhere? i've been looking for some iheartcomix mixtapes for ages! if this was availiable to buy on itunes or whatever i'd so buy it but as it's not is htere any chance of putting it on torrents or megaupload?

Anonymous No.2, Stuff it. You need to A: START YOUR OWN PARTIES. B: START YOUR OWN LABEL.

That remark about hitting on the underage girls was a low blow, and utterly juvenile.

Oh and why the hell would you NOT crowd surf? If you're having a good time, then by all means, have a surf!

Mr. Mous, please quit drinking the Haterade, and step off your Soap Box.

Correction, Make that Anonymous No.4.

Anon No.2, Enjoy that Switchblade Mix. I apologize.
