10 Talk back to yo' mama!:
yeah, I took my wife out to this thinking it would be worth checking out. Sadly, it was a worthless show and a sad excuse for a fundraiser.
wow...well, i had a good time.
Obama would not approve this.
Had a good time as well. What did you expect, a political rally. This was a way to have fun, get some voters registered, and raise a little cash for our man Obama.
Yeah, I think you missed the big picture first Anon...we got people registered to vote, we had a good time, and we raised a little bit of money from poor kids who normally wouldn't give it up...and as two of the people above said, had a good time. doing it on a Monday never helps, but for a Monday, I was pretty happy with the turnout.
I think you're in the minority of people that didn't enjoy it. For our first ever fundraiser, I'd say it was solid. Lots of room for improvement, but more of an effort than some give right?
No, did not expect a political rally smartass, but did expect a proper fundraiser. This was a joke! Don't put on an event just to pretend you represent, when you clearly did not do your homework.
Hey, I was there. Thanks for calling me a poor kid.
hahaha...no offense meant lisa, i'm a poor kid these days, so i lump you all in with me.
joe, seriously, what are you actually angry about here? we tried to do a good thing...use what voice we have to back the candidate we approve of. like I said, we'd never done a fundraiser before.
Going to have to side with the "had a good time" crowd. Hard to understand how registering voters (yes, I saw multiple people leave with forms) and raising any amount of cash is a bad thing. Not to mention, the new Grampall Jookabox jam is such a great, weird song.
Could more money have been raised; more voters registered? Certainly. Could it have been a heckuvalot nicer outside, and not on a Monday? Yes. But considering everyone involved is pretty much a newbie at politics & somewhat experienced at putting on shows; I thought it was a pretty darn good turn-out for a Monday.
We raised hundreds of dollars, registered some people to vote, had a good time, listened to some great music, and drank some cold beer. Plus, I was able to meet a lot of people for the first time. It wasn't a "typical" political fund raiser by any means, but it wasn't supposed to be. Considering it was our first fund raiser - and it was on a Monday - I was pretty impressed by the number of people who came out.
Thanks to everyone who came out and gave!
