Actually my favorite Joe is a bit of double-edged sword. Back in the 80's (damn I even cringe when I write it) when his "Big World" album came out I wore the thing out, "Soul Kiss" and "Home Town' being my most liked. Imagine my excitement when I learned he would be playing in Chicago at an outdoor site west of the city (name that venue, I know I can't remember). Well, honestly, the concert kind of sucked: he arrived late, no opening act to keep us interested, it had been raining alot the days before so the sloping grass area was more mudslide then picnic area, then he ended his short set and Nothing, not encore or anything. Never dulled my love of his music, but made me avoid large venue concerts for many years preferring the Metro or Riv instead.
It turned out years later I found out my wife had attended the same concert, same opinion.
Best of luck with his new album, i like what I've heard.
Other than Joe Jackson....
I would have to go with either Joe Rogan or Joseph Campbell. Both have impacted all our lives in different, but important ways.
After Joe Jackson, Joe Frank Carollo.

My favorite Joe is another Joe Jackson, mr. Shoeless Joe Jackson.
How can you not love a guy who says "I ain't afraid to tell the world that it don't take school stuff to help a fella play ball."
Amen Shoeless, Amen.

wait, am I eligible?
Cup of Joe, the only "Joe" I want to see every morning.
Very excited about honored Joe J.'s remasters, though. My vinyl of "Look Sharp!" is worn to the core.

DUH! Have been a fan since "Look Sharp!". Strayed from time to time, but I have enjoyed very much of his music over the years. Would love to see him live if he could play somewhere closer to here. "You don't have to be a hippie to believe in peace, that's obvious!"

Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio?

Well, from the jazz world, Joe Henderson.
I do have a great memory of Joe Jackson's concert tour for Night and Day, though. I was shopping for records in NYC for the weekend when I was in college. As I was talking with the store owner, he got a phone call and when he hung up, he asked me if I was doing anything that night. Not knowing what to say, I said "Nothin'" - he handed me a ticket to Joe Jackson's concert over on the piers (Pier 49, maybe? Now, it's Battery Park City now) and wouldn't take anything for the ticket. It was fantastic! A capella, bongos, great music, it was unbelievable. I love the Live 1980/86 album because I feel like I'm back at that concert.

Joe Jackson, without a doubt. I've written friggin' essays about it, and wouldn't hesistate to do so again.
If I had to pick a second? Easy. Joe Bob Briggs, for nothing more than his informative and timely bio on Linda Lovelace.

Joey Ramone would be my favorite Joe. That being said, Mr. Jackson's (That's Joe to you) "Got the Time" would make a great Ramone's song. It holds up well to all of today's 3 min pop-punk nuggets.
Besides Mr. Joe Jackson, the composer/musician/performer, I can't live without my cup o' in the morning. Need it, gotta have it, keeps me going, just like Joe's music.
Cup of Technicolor Jackson Strummer Ramone! A hero with a thousand faces.

A not very close second to Joe Jackson would be Joe Pasquale

Other than Joe "Steppin Out" Jackson I only consider one Joey worthy of idolatry. That man is JOEy Lawrence, the king of Whoa. For those who don't know Joey Lawrence is famous for his role in Blossom and...well thats about it really. Several years ago Joey Lawrence took a bold step and dropped the Joey for the more mature Joseph. Joseph Lawrence has gone on to star in such cinematic classics as Android Apocalypse , The Pool 2 , and the role that will redefine him Officer Michael Deacon in Rest Stop . If you have any idea what these movies are about I can assume that you were one of the five people that went to see Paris Hilton's Hottie and the Nottie.
Long Live JOEy Lawrence

I remember when I first heard 'Look Sharp' on the AOR station waaaaaayy back and I thought he was so cutting edge.
Having followed his career for nearly thirty years, from "Look Sharp!" to the wonderful new "Rain", and having attended nearly all of the New York concerts he has given during that time, my all-time favorite Joe is undisputably Joe Jackson. For me anyone else is just an average Joe.
CMKBWAY@hotmail.com
kinda like the idea of Joe from "Hey Joe"
Joe Sakic isn't bad either
I'd like to believe that, among both your readers and Joe Jackson's fans, I'm not the only one who has heard of Joe Zawinul. From the great jazz combo Weather Report, in case I'm wrong.

Hmmmm... Nancy McKeon played Jo on "The Facts of Life". But I guess that's one "e" short to qualify for an answer (not to mention she is on Lifetime may too often now). I suppose I will have to go with advertising icon Joe Isuzu. Joe Don Baker would be a very close second.
