Teen Titans Movie & Black Pearl
I saw the full/extended trailer for Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer the other day and I have to say I am much more intrigued. The first, as I've mentioned on here before, was pretty low down the totem pole when it comes to comic book movies for me. Daredevil/Elektra-esque...so, bad. Anyway, I noticed this today...

No problems admitting that I watch cartoons now and then and I occasionally read comic books, not as much as when I was a kid, but I go on binges now and then. I'm a big kid at heart, much to MJ's dismay at times. Anyway, I intermittently caught the new Teen Titans cartoon on Cartoon Network from time to time. Definitely geared towards a younger audience, but I soldiered through it now and then. Now the DC Comics' superteam is getting the live-action big-screen treatment courtesy of Warner Bros. (source)
The Teen Titans have consisted, over the years, of Robin, Kid Flash, Aqualad, Wonder Girl and Speedy, Cyborg, Starfire and Raven. The tone will be consistent with recent Warners' comic book fare as Batman Begins, Superman Returns and the upcoming Watchmen."
Bonus Cut:
Speaking of movies, I can't find much on this band past their MySpace... With their band name being the same as the damn Pirates Of The Caribbean boat and all, it has made it tough. Raven Sings The Blues clued me in on Philadelphia's Black Pearl last year, but I haven't seen or heard from them since. I like their poppy 70s psych-rock with heavier undertones sound they make though...

I'm out of town today, on my way to Florida, for a business trip for my real life job. I hope it's sunny, but not too hot. I'm pretty sure I won't get much time outside during the day, but I think we're planning on catching a Marlin's game if things go well. Won't be able to post much more than this, so apologies in advance.

B.C. Camplight (Brian Christinzio) talks about the new material... "Much of my music on the last record was reviewed so highly because there were these undertones of murder, incest, and stuff like that veiled behind these summer time pop songs. With this album I took a step further. Aside from struggling with my own mental illness, I decided to seek out people that were in horrific psychological pain. I spent a lot of time in a New Jersey jail collecting stories and did the same at friends’ mental hospitals (where I was posing as a volunteer). I didn't want to just exploit these peoples stories but I was interested in building off of them."
