The Weakerthans : Reunion Tour

I've been listening to The Weakerthan's Reunion Tour off and on for a few weeks now, and I gotta tell you, this record just makes me feel good and relaxed. Lyrically the narratives are not all full of feelings of warmth - more melancholy, yearning and disorientation really. We can all relate at times, so maybe that's what I like. Throughout the tunes though, there is a steady uplifting feeling. It's got the feel of Fall record - a season I love.
Before Reunion Tour it had been quite a while since I'd thought of or listened to The Weakerthans. Their previous album, Reconstruction Site, came out over four years ago - an eternity in this high-speed internet come-and-gone era. This time around, lead singer John K. Samson's narritives cover all things Canadian...everything from the NHL to curling to Bigfoot. Virtute the cat even makes a return this album. Reunion Tour came out last month on Anti-/Epitaph and is well worth the listen.

5 Talk back to yo' mama!:
Gotta agree: good album, good band. Good shows, too - saw them in Philly last year. Catch them while/if you can when they're in the States!
Yeah, I got this as soon as it came out, been loving it.
That's a great album, I'm really enjoying it myself.
