Nada Surf : Live on MOKB SIRIUS Blog Radio, Left Of Center, Channel 26

Well, to say we were excited to have Nada Surf in to record a MOKB SIRIUS Blog Radio/91.7 WEEM session would be an understatement. Talk about nice guys too! I was salavating when lead singer Matthew Caws asked us if we wanted them to play five or six songs. We wanted as many as they'd play for us, but due to time considerations, I got three great ones and left a Happy Kid.
We talked a lot about the new album, Lucky, coming out in February, but the guys weren't ready to play any new material for us. I was a little bummed about that, but they still busted out a couple of my favorites. Details about the record's themes are still vague, Matthew said it was interviews like this one in which he was still working out the answers to those types of questions. We talked about all the contributors on the new album. The guys said they lured them all over with Daniel's cooking and then stuck instruments in their hands.
The show at Birdy's that night thrilled the fans. I think they only played one new song. They said they were working three new ones into their live shows at our session earlier that day. I loved the encore the most. They started strong, lost me a little in the middle and finished fantastically, so I left with a smile - the best sign of a good show.
Tune in to My Old Kentucky Blog Radio on SIRIUS Satellite Radio, Left Of Center, Channel 26 every Tuesday at 12pm EST and 12am EST to hear more.
