Return To Sender : The King Dead 30 Years Ago Today
Thirty years ago today Elvis died...fat, sweaty and full of pills. Not a bad way to goo...errr...nevermind. I'm sure you'll see him all over the blogs today, if you haven't already this week. This probably won't be the only covers post in his honor. The King has been somewhat soiled in this angry, ironic, hipster culture. Chuck D once called him "straight up racist", but I'm not so sure that was the case. The man did a lot for "black music". He made a load of money off of it, but I think he brought a lot of attention to many talented black musicians and songwriters. Maybe post-humously for some, but nonetheless. Anyway, I don't wanna get too deep into that. He made a lot of movies that MJ loves. I know that for a fact. His jumpsuits are to lusted after and admired. I know that for a fact too. Plus, he and The Colonel have always been pals, and I can't discount that.
