Lee Bob Watson : Aficionado

I could, with just as much enthusiasm, write a daily blog like Aquarium Drunkard, focusing on the whiskey-drenched sounds of Americana, the old-school and everything rooted in country and gospel. AD does it better than anyone can (and thank God he does). But because I love those sounds too, I love to dip my pen into those sounds quite often. Recently Lee Bob Watson's Aficionado has been spinning and spinning in my player. Based in California, Lee Bob's music can't helped but be influenced by the SoCal flavor and the Beach Boys flair (check Highway 1 Sunset), but with The Man In Black, The King and Old School Country is where his heart lies. Fans of M.Ward will find much to their liking if they check out Lee Bob Watson. Buy it at Grass Roots Records Co..
"Watson pairs his cowboy hat with Chuck Taylor's and adds an indie-rock flavor to his country roots."

This is an honest question. Do you think Gram Parsons is an influence here? The whole country rock and california connection thing... Thats what I thought just looking at the guy and reading the post
