As I reported earlier Clap Your Hands Say Yeah are in a movie! It's good to be right about something for once! And first even! Anyway, you may now already know - because the promo companies now send everything to Stereogum and Pitchfork a few hours before any other blog. Wah! I know. It's good, because I actually had to do some sleuthing to get the speculative news last time. OK, it was pretty minimal work honestly. Alright, alright, honestly I'm blogging after a couple drinks and just keep writing - never a good idea. Somebody stop me! I could edit, but it's out...on to the details...

They cancelled their tour dates in Indiana and Missouri to do the filming. Which is what originally pissed me off and sparked me to find out what was up. It's one of those things though where I'm not sure I even cared. I mean, most of the time I'm not sure I like CYHSY that much, but I've never seen them live, so you wanna see what all the fuss was about...

The now known details are: They are in L.A. tomorrow and Friday shooting scenes for THE GREAT BUCK HOWARD, for which they have written new songs. The band will be playing themselves. Acting in the film are John Malkovich, Colin Hanks, Emily Blunt and Tom Hanks.
