The Biltmores : Same Story, Same Ending
The Biltmores are from Providence, Rhode Island and were formed, in late 2005, by brothers Dan and George Baxter. Dan enlisted the help of fellow Providence College buddies/students Jon Pitts and Brendan Leonard. You may remember Leonard from his short-lived ABC Family television show. Their debut album, Same Story, Same Ending, is an excellent exploration of rock, punk, rockabilly and pop. They occasionally sound like Lucero and even a little like The Offspring when they crank it up, but also create infectious melodic tunes - or at least incorporate that within the rockers very well. Pavement, Modest Mouse and bands of that ilk comparisions could be made, but they always are, aren't they? The Biltmores' MySpace.
Same Story, Same Ending is a top-notch debut effort, definitely worth checking into.

thanks for posting this. i've been listening to the stuff on their myspace page, and wound up buying the album. this is very, very solid -- especially for a debut.
