The Whigs : Live In-Studio on MOKB Blog Radio, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, Left Of Center - Channel 26
First off, in case you missed it...Stereogum shared the leaked Lolla 2007 lineup yesterday. Pretty solid.
The Whigs In-Studio & Rock For Riley Show:
As always, big love to 91.7 WEEM for allowing MOKB Blog Radio to record these sessions. Tune to MOKB Blog Radio tonight on Left Of Center, Channel 26 for the whole interview with these songs. Remember, if you don't have SIRIUS, you can still listen online for free!

Parker Gispert, lead singer of The Whigs, was pretty nervous about these songs. The band never plays "stripped down", so none of us knew how they would turn out. I think they turned out great and give a whole different take on these usually incredibly loud and raucous songs. The new material sounds great too and the band says they hope to have the new album out this year. I'm banking on an early 2008 release, but who knows!
Added note that made me laugh: U.S. Gunn, bassist for The Whigs, was a huge fan of MOKB's Rockstar:Supernova coverage. Thanks for the support Sammy!
The Rock For Riley show, that night, was all we could have hoped for. We made about $700 for the charity (after expenses) on this one show. Our hope was to raise a couple thousand with these first four shows, so this one really exceeded our expectations. Thanks for coming out and supporting Rock For Riley, Indianapolis! I hope this show was as much fun for you and it was for me!
