John Vanderslice Remixed

You know, I never really talk about John Vanderslice, but I like his music and it's said that he is one of the nicest guys in indie rock. So many other blogs cover him so heavily, so I just sort of let him be taken care of by all those guys. Recently, in a really interesting interview by Garrison Reid at Gorilla Vs. Bear, John Vanderslice gave some love to MOKB.
Sure, stroke my ego and I'm sure to say nice things, but honestly, John Vanderslice is very blog-savvy - he reads a lot of blogs - so to mention MOKB, it was a real compliment. Yes, I know I'm not alone, he's given love
in interviews to great blogs like Brooklyn Vegan, Large-Hearted Boy, Stereogum, the aformentioned GvB and many others, but it was just nice and maybe says I'm doing something right once in a while. Every now and then. So, what I'm sayin' is...thanks John.
Now, enough horn tootin' and all that. It's being mentioned around the internerd a lot today, but John's 2005 album, Pixel Revolt, has been remixed all up and down by his friend and sometimes contributor Scott Solter. Not only that, but they've made the whole thing available for free download.

3 Talk back to yo' mama!:
Vanderslice is awesome; I still listen to Cellar Door all the time.
I saw that little shout out today, too. Pretty sweet, man, pretty sweet.
Ooh! We wrote about the JV remix today as well on the imagi-blog...

But we didn't get a JV shoutout! That is a most honorable achievement, congrats!
Vanderslice is coming here in a couple weeks, and while I'm pretty damn excited about him, I'm crazy excited about seeing St. Vincent open for him. This may have something to do with her cuteness, but mostly, it doesn't seem like anyone in my town knows who she is, and I'm interested to see their reaction. The local paper probably won't mention her, so I'll have to blog like crazy about the show. Which is fine by me.
