The Fratellis

Is your song being used in an iPod commercial a kiss of death or a boost to superstardom? The Caesars and Rinôçérôse both caused a lot of waves with Jerk It Out and Cubicle, but after that, not much. The Fratellis' Flathead is the latest infectious tune to be the poster child for the iPod. Does the band from Glasgow, Scotland have the stuff to be more than just a jingle-flash-in-the-pan? I don't have the answers, but I do know I like Flathead and a more than a couple of the other tunes on their EP.
They'll be down at SXSW this year, so we'll see what the buzz is all about. The Fratellis' MySpace. You can find out more at their Wiki.
The Fratellis - Henrietta
Also, over the coming months The Fratellis will be releasing a series of exclusive MP3's as part of "The Budhill Singles Club". You can access the downloads for free by entering a username, password and email address. Their sixth, and current, mp3 is an acoustic version of the album track For The Girl.
I've downloaded all six. Pretty painless for six free songs. Here is one of them...
The Fratellis - Cigarello (Acoustic)
EDIT: I Forgot:

I forgot to mention thanks and congrats go out to SIRUS Blog Radio for winning a 2007 Plug Award for best specialty show. MOKB is honored to be a part of it and congrats it's counterparts Brooklyn Vegan, Gorilla Vs. Bear and Productshop NYC for really laying the groundwork.

3 Talk back to yo' mama!:
I like the Fratellis too. Their gig at the Troubadour in LA sold out really quick.
Anyway, I signed up and I can't find where to download the tracks. Help?
It is a little confusing, but after you have a login...go back to http://www.thefratellis.com/
Then login. There will be a MEMBERS link...go to that. You will then see the Budhill Singles Club. Click a number (1-6) and the name of the song will appear above the numbers. Save Target As... on the name of the song. Hope that helps.
ahah! I feel dumb, but yeah. It is a little confusing. Hahaha ... but got it.
Thanks!
