My Brightest Diamond Covers Prince's "When Doves Cry"
The MOKB Covers Project Redux continues today with a live performance cover. Here's a live video I shot at Luna Music Midtown here in Indianapolis today. My Brightest Diamond and Sufjan Stevens are in town today for a show at the Murat. I'll be checking it out. I know I clown on Sufjan sometimes and I'm still not really into him, but this in-store performance today by Shara Worden(aka M.B.D.) got me a whole lot more excited about this show tonight. She covered Nina Simone's Feeling Good right before she covered Prince. It was amazing, but I couldn't get the camera back out in time. Shara's voice is incredible. I mean, even in a record store with nonideal acoustics, it shined like her namesake. It was as good or better than any vocalist I've seen live. My Brightest Diamond's MySpace.
