The Sound The Hare Heard

Kill Rock Stars' newest compilation is called The Sound The Hare Heard and it features new tracks by Devin Davis, Laura Veirs, Sufjan Stevens and Colin Meloy. Actually as impressive as the headliners are, the secondaries are equally as great...Imaad Wasif, Great Lake Swimmers, Death Vessel and Wooden Wand to name a few. This album is actually full of the Bob Dylan's, Joni Mitchell's and Elliot Smith's of today's indie music scene. There are those that are well-established, those just starting out and those that nicely fill the middle ground. And the new kids, like this Thao Nguyen, are fab. Sara Hutter's paintings which are the art for the inside and out of the album are fantastic too.

Here's the big news, you probably know about my distaste (it's not really a distaste as much as it is just that I find him very boring) for Sufjan, but I actually really find his song Adlai Stevenson appealing. You can find it by searching Elbo.ws.
