Metal Hearts - Socialize and more...

Baltimore duo and self-described 'avid shoplifters', Metal Hearts, relate all the angst, trials and tribulations of growing up in their new album, Socialize. The sub-twenty-year-olds share all the heartbreak of bullies, breakups and braces through doses of mope-addled bedroom rock. Metal Hearts is on Suicide Squeeze Records and will be at SXSW this year. I'm really enjoying this record, so I suggest you put in on your February "to purchase" list.

Sonically meshing together the angular bites of Long Drive-era Modest Mouse, the expansive bedroom drone of Arab Strap, and the subtle whispers of Cat Power.

Ohhhh yeah, The L Word started up again last night! Man, I love this show and not just for the gratuitious hot female on hot female lovin'. Great actresses, great stories, hot ladies. CAN'T. MISS. Oh, could Bette be any more real-life prego?! Come on kids, you can hide it better than that. Carmen...wow...so hot. Shane & Whitney: separated at birth?
NFL Playoffs & Sports Corner:
Well, my weekend started terribly when UK got humiliated for the second time this season, this time by Kansas. Not much to say here, no inside presence and no heart. Morris coming back next game will give them the size and offense they need on the inside, but they better get their heads on straight or none of it will matter.
The Colts were on the bye week and now will face the Pittsburg Steelers for the second time this season at home in front of the RCA Dome crowd. You may or may not remember the last meeting when Ben Rothlesszzilbooger accused the Colts of pumping in artificially created noise to make the Dome louder when the Steelers were on offense. I liked him up until that little bitch move. Quit whining and play this time Ben and crew.
I'm nervous though, all this hype surrounding the Colts...saying anything short of a Super Bowl appearance would be an ultimate collapse. Beating the Steelers twice is no easy feat and then to have to play the arch-nemesis Patriots or much improved Broncos all before the Super Bowl...yuck. I don't love that path. Whoever comes out of the AFC has this Super Bowl in the bag, I'm calling that shot now...sorry Bears, Panthers and Seahawks fans.

12 Talk back to yo' mama!:
Am I being too obvious when I ask if the shellacking UK took at the hands of IU was the other "humiliation"? I suffered through a 90-somthing to 60-something loss to Kentucky in Bloomington some years back, so I trust you'll humor me this once?
The Colts look good to me, though I am a tad worried about Pittsburgh. At least it's in Indy, so they can crank up that noise machine. Would you rather have had New England next week?
yes matt, the IU game is the other humiliation of which I speak. IU owed UK that one after 5 straight blowouts at the hands of the Cats. I didn't mind that one so much as it kind of renews the rivalry...not a fan of this one as UK, historically, has owned Kansas.
As far as the Colts go, I'd rather not play New England or Denver. I would've hoped for Jacksonville then Cincy or Pittsburg...wasn't that possible? I think it was...that's what I would've liked to see happen from an easy road standpoint.
next week is irrelevant...the colts will probably beat the crappy steelers, only to be shut down (again) by my boy tom brady and the Patriots. write it down bitches!!
From all of us Bengal fans, beat those Squeelers!
man, the iu fans really seem to be coming out of the woodwork this year! being a kats fan in indianapolis, i haven't heard a peep from a hoosier in years. now i catch shit on the daily.
uk IS horrible this year. tubby has slowly turned the perennial powerhouse into an unranked also-ran. sure, morris' stupidity helped, but he needs to get some recruits in. rondo is only there because of a fluke.
as for my colts, i like them playing the steelers and especially the patriots. that's the only way peyton's gonna get rid of this unfair and unwarranted "headcase" tag he's gotten in the playoffs. i say, let's play the toughest teams. well, the broncos are better than the patriots but we need to take out brady and co. just because of the whole storyline.
As a loyal (and rabid) IU alum, it was nice to finally beat UK...but that still doesn't replace the time Mike Davis ran onto the court and lost us the game. Embarassment. Looks like it'll be a long season in Lexington.
The Colts cannot be stopped by the Steelers. Waaaay too many weapons. It's the Broncos I'm worried about. We haven't seen 'em this season, and although we've wiped the floor with them in the recent past, they've got a great team this year. I do think we can take anyone from the NFC, with Seattle (obviously) being our toughest opponent.
come on now, UK is not horrible...yet. let's judge them on their SEC record and see. At this point though, they are certainly a NCAA first round knockout.
I think the Colts have enough to get by the Steelers again, but Edge has to run well, and I doubt there'll be any 80 yard bomb connections like the first game. Peyton can't throw any near Polomolomololomo.
uk fans have been spoiled for quite awhile. this is the worst team i've ever seen uk put out on the court, let's leave it at that.
i'm not prepared to say the addition of morris is going to help much. i predict a 10-6 finish in the SEC. that'll leave us with a middling at-large bid come march.
L Word's so hot it makes my head hurt!
um dodge...you forgot to mention REDSKINS FANS...the hawks have NEVER beaten us...this franchise has never had a sniff the super bowl, dont sleep on the skins..
HAIL TO THE REDSKINS...HAIL VICTORY..!!!
That Whitney broad could really use a cheessteak! What she weigh about 50 pounds??
