X-Games : Big Air
So, after Paradise VI, MJ and I went across the river to visit Mama & Papa Dodge. It was a nice stay, mostly we spent time just talking and resting. Later the Padres took us back to the river for a nice dinner. During our recouperation time, MJ, Papa Dodge and I watched the X-Games Big Air competition. Has anyone else seen this?! It's insane. Danny Way is my new hero. This guy has jumped the Great Wall Of China on a friggin' skateboard! Nuts. What was even more nuts was the amount of injuries he's sustained. He's tore his ACL 4 times! I tore my ACL in a sports related injury in college and let me tell you, that surgery and rehab is no fun. I can't imagine going through it 3 more times. He's shattered his elbow and had numerous noggin and shoulder injuries. He was limping like an old man at the X-Games, but he still nailed his jumps. Seriously, look at these photos of the ramp. You have to go down it, make the big jump while doing a trick, LAND (which is hard as hell), go up the half pipe and pull huge air and do another trick and then LAND again! Seriously, I want to do this, if I was 10 years younger and knew how the hell to ride a skateboard. Right now, I'd poop my pants just looking down the ramp!

Anyway, I don't know if he ended up winning, we went out to dinner before it was over and sports related sites are blocked by the IT Nazis here at my work. Does anyone know? He was in first after his 4th out of 5 jumps.
I haven't done this in a while, but most of my themes today are non-music related, so I'm going to give you a couple mixed indexes out there and let you decide what you'd like to listen to...

Hey Artful Dodger...
If you like the X-sports you should go to the NBL Grands (BMX racing) for a bit Labor Day weekend, in Louisville. Tom Sawyer Park, I think it's called. I don't think I'll be there (depends on dog/cat sitting), but Mr. Mallie will be there trying to win Vet Pro for the second year in a row.

I used to want to be a skater so bad. I owned a Steve Caballero -- Powell Peralta anybody? Also loved the Christian Hosoi skateboards.
That big air competition was sick. It's also funny that you posted that EMF song. I downloaded that song a week ago and have been playing it non-stop.
