Rademacher

Alan always beats me to the punch, like he did with this cool band from Fresno, CA. I think, however, I might have been first with Pet Politics yesterday! No matter, it's not important. What is important is that you, my gentle audience, check these bands out!



Rademacher is a four piece indie rock band, heavily influenced, by their own admission, by Grandaddy and Earlimart. The band was formed in 2004 and has seen a number of lineup changes in the bands brief history. They have been compared to the likes of Modest Mouse and Fugazi even. The sound is heavy keyboard/synth-driven melodies mixed with both acoustic and electric guitars.

Rademacher has just finished their latest EP, Ice Age. To be released on Greytank Records this fall. "Playing For Fun" is one of the tracks that will be featured on the EP.

I don't how many of you watch the 'L-Word', but this song reminds me of one of Jenny's dream sequences from her childhood...it's probably because Alan related it to a 'acoustic carnival'. But he's right, it's almost as if Mike M, the lead singer is a carnival director/swindler yelling over the crashing and dancing music in the background. There seems to be a certain enjoyable sinisterness to it even. It works and it works very well.
