Oh, and since all the other bloggers are comparing their mental capacities based on Newsweek's Top 1000 high schools in America list...I attended #300, which is a public school for all you elitist beeyatches out there, so while I am not as smart as Thighs or Lindsay, I'm no knucklehead either. Look at the big brain on Dodge!
I need direction to perfection...no no no...you gotta help me out!

I've been enjoying your blog for a while now. This is the first time I've commented though. The methodology of that Newsweek top high schools list is so flawed it's hardly even funny. I'm not denying that it could be a useful indicator or rule of thumb, but ((IB and AP tests taken) divided by the number of graduating seniors) doesn't really provide any basis for determining "best" high schools. For instance, my high school would've actually benefitted on list placement (we're probably not on the list anyway) from the fact that we had 350 graduating seniors after 550 of the 900 entering freshman in my class dropped out before senior year.
And it's even more useless in comparing good high schools.

Kids, I put as much faith in magazine ranking lists like as I do in Televangelists...none. Anyway, I was just having a little fun, I figured it would insight some response from those whose schools were spited.
Texas lives and breathes high school football, so I'm sure you're right about that. We weren't too shabby a couple of the years I was there, but St. X, Male & Trinity are the football powerhouses in Louisville usually. I played baseball in high school, but no football.
Kentucky, like Indiana, is all about basketball.
I beat you all. My school is so awesome, it didn't even make the list!

I have not looked at the list but even if they had the top 10,000 schools, I don't think that my school would be on the list.
I don't know who that is on the "Getting Better" track, but it is NOT Gomez. If you want that version (much better than the one posted), go to track 15 of their 2000 release of "Abandoned Shopping Trolley Hotline."
